�. DESIGN GUIDELfNES:
The Design Review Commission will evaluate whether the proposed action (canstruction, alteration or
demolition) is compatible with existing structures and surrounding praperties using the following criteria:
• Height —consistent with historic form and eontext of site and surrounding praperties
• �cale — relationship of structure and its architectural elements to human size, form, perception
• Proportion — relationship among building elements including{ront fa�ade, windows, and doors
• Rhythm —pattern resulting from repeating building elements such as daorlwindow openings, columns,
�rches, and other fa�ade elernents
• Directional Expressian —compatibiliry with horizontal & vertical expression of surrounding structures
• Massing& Open Space— r�lationship of structure to open space beCween it and adjoiruing buildings
• Setbacl<—compatibility with surrounding structures
• Compatibility of the follawing with surrounding structures/properties:
- Major building elements (storefronts, doors, windows, roofl
- Building materials
- Color—(in nan-residential zoning districts only)
5. DECISIONS: The Design Review Comrnission may approve, approve with conditions, or disapprdve an
application. The ORC may impase appropriate conditions and safeguards in connection with its appro�al
including nature/quality of materials, manner af construction, and design. An applicant may appeal a denied
DRC application on the grounds of hardship.
Application approvals shall expire within 18 months of the filing date unless the project has sufFiciently
commenced (i.e. buildingldemolition permits obtained and constructior�/alteration begun). Applicanes may
request up to 2 extensions if requested before expiration date of prior approval.

placed on an agenda on first-come, first-serveci basis as determinec�by the completeness of the application.

I. We �vould like to create a ne�v n�airl poini of ent��y on Railroad Ave«lie. Tc�accornplish this, we arc
prQposing ta remove an approsimateEy 50' x 1�' section c�f the existing stareFront. In ��lace of the
cxisting stoecfroi�t, �ve �vould adcl a �vhite stucco wall section, wl�ich would iEtclude Signage �nd a
wi�ite set of double doors.Add�itionally,all of the green mullions that coi�lprise tEle stc�refiro»k would
be painted �vhite to ma�ch the stucco and doors. It should L�c noted tllat the storefront does not
incl�rde the large green colun}�is that sit on the side�valk. Please ecfer to tl�e provided drawi�y�;s for
