HomeMy WebLinkAbout20220130 52 Kirby Area Variance Public Comment April 13, 2022 To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to express my concerns over an area variance to permit a two-lot subdivision of my neighbor's property. My neighbor is Richard Timberlake at 52 Kirby Road, Saratoga Springs, NY. Tax map #165.13-2-80 1 own the neighboring property at 5 Glenwood Drive, Saratoga Springs, NY. Tax map #165.13-2-64 1 attended the Zoning Board of Appeals public hearing on April 4, 2022 and am on record at that meeting as opposing the sub-division. The board referred the sub-division application to the Planning Board as the next step. I am concerned that I won't know when that meeting is scheduled and will miss the opportunity to express my objection to this variance. I was told that I could submit a written objection which would be considered when determining the sub-division status. If the sub-division is approved and another home is built on the sub-divided property, it will directly impact my property. My property line on the west side of my house is only 5'4" to Richard Timberlake's property line. Even with the set back, any new structure will directly block six windows in my home. Two windows in my downstairs living area, one window in my dining room, two windows in one second floor bedroom and one window in another second floor bedroom. I was encouraged at the Zoning Board meeting when they questioned whether a proposed remodel of a house on Fifth Avenue would obstruct the neighbors view. This will certainly be the case at my home, if the sub-division at Richard Timberlake's home is approved and a new home is built. Currently, the properties on Glenwood Drive have a similar distance between each home. A new home on a sub-divided lot will not be consistent with the look of the existing neighborhood. I will be happy to attend any meeting concerning this issue to express my objection to this sub-division application. Sincerely, Cynthia L.
