I. Pro_j ect Description
The 74 Mitchel Street proj ect consists of the construction of a new recreational swimming pool
and club house to be used by the seven (7) parcels contributing to the HOA membership. The
property is bound to the north by Mitchell Street, the south by Snyder Lane, the West by 70 Mitchell
Street, and the east by 76 Mitchell Street.
II. ExistinWater and Sanitary Sewer Utilities
There is an existing house and garage located at 74 Mitchell Street which is planned to be
demolished as a part of the site work. The proj ect plans to reuse the existing water and sanitary
sewer service lines for the existing building to service the new club house.
Municipal water service is available from the City of Saratoga Springs. A 6-inch diameter water
main is located along Mitchell Street. No water main is located along Snyder Lane.
Municipal sanitary sewer service is also available from the City of Saratoga Springs. An 8-inch
diameter sanitary sewer main runs along Mitchell Street. No sanitary sewer mains run along
Snyder Lane. This sanitary line eventually connects to the Saratoga County Sewer District No. 1
(SCSD), where it ultimately is directed for conveyance and treatment at the SCSD wastewater
treatment plant in Mechanicville.
III. Pro_j ected Water and Wastewater Flows
The table below provides information on the anticipated wastewater flow rates for the project:
Description Use Rate Total Use
Average(28) people 10 gpd/personl 280 gpd
Total 280 gpd
Average daily flow for wastewater is estimated to be 0.58 gallons per minute (gpm) based on a 8
hour day. Estimated peak hourly flow is 2.45 gpm (4.2 x average).2
Average daily demand for water is estimated to be approximately equal to the wastewater flow
or 0.5 8 gpm.
IV. Proposed Water and Wastewater Utilities
Proposed Water Utilities
To service the club house, the existing water service for the demolished house will be reused.
Connections and appurtenances, including corporation stops, trenching, bedding, service
