President
M,heie Funeno As the Foundation has stated in previous letters to the Design Review Commission,it is pleased
vre Praer that there is a plan to redevelop the vacant parceL The architectural design of the building is a
Lnaa L.xaey statement of its own time. Therefore, the Foundation does not object to the sryle and the
se''etay materials of the proposed building.
Dmitriy Yermolayev
T''e°s"'eN However, the Foundation was disappointed by the Design Review Commission's 4-3 decision
Trany siar to approve the project as submitted. The Foundation continues to strongly object to the height,
soaa scale, and setback of the structure because it is not in keeping with the neighboring structures.

sa"dra F°" The proposed structure is surrounded by two-story buildings with the exception of the building

Jagon rnomas While the Foundation appreciates that the applicant set back the sixth floor, the Foundation
Maaay zanen does not believe that it reduces the overall height, mass, and scale of the building, in part
James xenieWen because the wide-overhanging roof extends to the faade of the building, thus defeating the
e"e''tus intended purpose. The Foundation continues to strongly recommend that the overall height,
srar mass, and scale of the building be reduced. Should the sixth floor remain, the Foundation
recommends that the overhang of the roof should be removed or significantly reduced.
