Re: 102 Lincoln Avenue
City of Saratoga Springs-
Design Review Commission
Attn: Amanda Tucker
Dear Amanda and members of the Design Review Commission:
I am submitting to you photo documentation of the existing front porch and further clarification so that we
may receive approval for the scope of work.
In addition, it has been brought to my attention that the client's homeowner insurance has sent a letter
terminating their insurance unless the front porch is addressed, thus time is critical for approval.
It is the intent of the client to seek approval to replace the front porch decking with mahogany T and G.
The existing decking is worn down and is showing peeling paint in poor condition. There is also decking
that has been "patched in" at the front door.
The framing underneath actually appears to be in decent condition. There may be additional support
required after the decking is removed, however the existing framing can remain.
The posts have suffered some damage at the base. In some instances, we may suggest replacing the
base trim.
The railing and posts and rafters and roof can remain. There may be some scraping and re-painting to
these areas to be completed.
Respectfully submitted
