Project Address 269 Broadway Comments I still don't think this building is a good fit for Broadway. The mass and scale is showcased by the modern style of the build- ing. If you look down Broadway it's mostly brick buildings. A good example is the building that Northshire Bookstore is in. It's clearly larger than the buildings around it but it still fits in with the surroundings. The design for the new building at 269, mostly glass, huge address written across the front in a modern style does not fit in with the aesthetic of historic Saratoga. I've attached a photo of the Washington building from Google with a side view where you can see that it's much larger then the building next to it, but it doesn't feel overwhelming to the street. Arches, set back windows, brick facade, neutral colors etc. All things that are constants with our historic town, and all of these things should be considered when allowing new builds to this special place. People come here because of that and it shouldn't be tarnished with a bad decision on a new building. Thanks so much.
