The prospect of this new development is very exciting; however, the proposed plans show a structure not in keeping with character of our historic downtown. The size and scale of this structure appears far too large as compared to those nearby structures, including the historic Church of St Peter, Catholic School, or Inn of Saratoga. None of the adjacent buildings stand above 3-4 stories, nor span the footprint between the two blocks. It also lacks in a proper set-back from the sidewalk. As a result, this building stands out awkwardly among its smaller neighbors. This building will greet visitors as they enter the city from S Broadway. It would be unfortunate to have such an oversized building draw away attention from the historic surroundings. Its inconsistency with its surroundings is jarring. I hope the DRC will consider providing feedback in reducing the height, scale and mass of this structure and I hope the developer will consider right-sizing the design. Thank you for your consideration. Attach Photo (optional) Field not completed. Email not displaying correctly? V12W It Ifl yOUf bf"OWS2r
