Prior to the February 14, 2022 meeting of the ZBA, the ZBA sought information pertaining to fire access to the site. Fire Protection As you can see from the aerial depiction of the 69 Caroline Street site which was part of the initial presentation to the Zoning Board, the subject parcel is located adjacent to the fire station. As such, the response time for the department to attend to any potential fire is very short. The property is located 191 feet from the fire hydrant at the corner of Caroline and Henry Streets. Based on communications with assistant fire chief Aaron Dyer, the access point for fighting any fire would be on Caroline Street, with Short Alley, located behind the building, being used as a secondary access. In addition, the Station 1 Engine can access the building from the parking lot at 69 Caroline Street. The building is fully sprinkled, with smoke/heat detectors as detailed in the April 20, 2016 site plan. The planning board has previously reviewed this site for fire protection during the 2016 site plan review for the addition. The planning board will again review this project following any approval of the within application. Fire protection will be part of their review process. 1 69 Caroline Street JOHN HALLER USE VARIANCE FEBRUARY 14, 2022 2 Presented by: Stephanie Ferradino Issues: l RetaiSoundProject finishing Outstanding 3 and upcoming class projects existing retail: k wor e similar to inspiration, showcase work, support upcoming of member Spac storefront retail use Predominantly for sale to other members/class participantsNot a Exhibition Display and use Ancillary usePurpose classes Gallery Presented by: Stephanie Ferradino 4 Feb 3, 2022 Equipment FindingsSound ordinanceInterior attenuation Selection of equipment with lower decibel ratings Sound test Sound attenuation measures Sound Presented by: Stephanie Ferradino 5 by 9pm turned off . will be Attenuation Measures coustically tight building Comply with city noise ordinanceAAdditional acoustical attenuation in interior to decrease sound levelsShop machines Sound Presented by: Stephanie Ferradino 6 specialized which require low VOC or natural oils Finishing/Protectants Hand sealing No spray finishes ventingObtain building department/code enforcement approval if propose to do in the future.
