Tamie & Amanda,
In case today at caravan members ask why we are not
proposing to restore the clapboard siding on the rear of the
main structure, the answer is that we anticipate that the
future buyer of the house will want to construct an
addition. Currently there is plywood in poor condition.
Rather than replace in-kind we are proposing fiber cement
panels because they are more durable.
Please note that the metal roof will be 1-1/2" double-lock
mechanically seamed G90 steel roof with a Kynar finish.
Matt will submit a specification sheet.
I also failed to include in our application a photo of the
original porch railings and columns that the Simpsons
removed and stored in the house. Please see attached.
Our plan is to use as much of the original railings and
columns as possible and replicate any pieces as necessary.
Lastly, we have applied for a curb-cut. At this time it is to
allow for a curb-cut and we will install a concrete apron.
This will allow access to the site for construction. We may
return to the DRC for approval of a driveway should the
Foundation have the funds. Otherwise, the future owner
will design and install the driveway. I did meet on site with
Matt Zeno, Senior Engineering Technician. When we met, I
specifically asked about the location of the utility pole. He
did not see any issue with allowing the curb cut. Please
see attached site plan indicating the proposed curb cut and
detail that was provided in our application that was
submitted to the Department of Public Works.
Thank you,
Samantha
