Dear Tarnie
The Saratoga Springs Preservation Foundation reviewed the application for the proposed
mixed-use project at 65 Beekman Street. Historically a larger three story building
occupied the site. The building was demolished some time after 1972 and the site has
Board of Directors remained vacant.
Matthew Veitch
President Through a New York State Main Street Grant, the Foundation assisted with many
building improvements along Beekman Street, a once thriving neighborhood commercial
James Gold area that had a variety of stores, restaurants, and residences. The grant assisted seven
Vice President &
Secretary buildings with facade improvements and building rehabilitations.
Adam I . Favro
Treasurer The Foundation supports this mixed- use project as it is in keeping with the overall mass,
scale, and architectural style of the surrounding buildings, which date from the early
Caroline Cardone 1840s — to the early 1900s. The Foundation appreciates that the roof height has been
