It appears that the majority of the DRC have not read all of the public comments, carefully reviewed the developer presentations or even familiarized themselves fully with the project site. I was unable to present the attached PowerPoint presentation about elevations at the meeting. I was prepared to provide it by thumb drive in person but was assured I could share it on my computer after the DRC switched to Zoom just hours before the meeting. As the first public commenter, despite planning staff best efforts, the share screen button never appeared for me. But even more upsetting was that my honesty was called into question by one DRC member who preferred to look at a Google maps street view (wrong perspective) and trust the developer rather than take the time to test the measurements honestly taken and presented by me. There have been so many inconsistencies in this developer's presentations and inadequate or misleading responses to the concerns of city employees, land use board members and Clough Harbour (city advisor). That should have been enough for the DRC to delay its vote and confirm my concerns rather than dismiss me and the unprecedented amount of public opposition. To say that the project mass and scale have substantially changed since 800 people signed a petition in opposition is ludicrous. The language of the petition still applies, as do the comments of the 75 people the DRC Chairperson announced had submitted public comment. I hope the Planning Board takes this more seriously because the massive size of this project will greatly exacerbate existing issues that city employees are well aware of. This has been terribly disappointing and I hope more citizens get involved.
