I'm lad the ro osed desi n looks I i ke a g g p p g modern buildin and not somethin muffled b histor . I g g y y don't think it should be shortened. Man of Sarato a's reat buildin s are those that survive y g g g th � � from the 19 centur . We re luck to have a lar el �ntact y y g y stri of historic buildin s alon Broadwa and a communit p g g y� y with a stron interest in reservin them. Our historic g p g arch itectu re does a lot to su ort ou r cit 's al I u re as a lace pp y p to I ive and work. We shou Id do al I we can to ensu re that we won't lose an more. y Sta rti n i n th e `50s m a n of th e o e n i n s created b th e g � y p g y loss of man of our rand old victorians were filled with y g unremarkable buildin s of 1 or 2 stories. But in recent g decades our economic resur ence has stimulated a , g buildin boom uni ue amon u state cities. We have g q g p en'o ed a rare o ortunit to re lace those humble J y pp Y p laceholders and create a new architectural le ac . p g y Sadl we seem to continue to live in the ast. A number of y� p the downtown buildin s of the last 30 ears were made to g y look va uel old but without the refinement that would ive g y � g them character.
