The approved 2014 project depicted an area for a future barn expansion. The proposed expansion project will construct a new barn within the 2014 future barn expansion area. The purpose of this letter is to summarize the estimations made in the 2014 design for the barn expansion and how the current project fits within those estimations. For stormwater management the 2014 design accounted for 6,570 sf of impervious area for the barn expansion. A sediment forebay and infiltration basin were sized to treat this impervious area south of the proposed barn. The current project will result 3,420 sf of impervious area which will be conveyed south to the previously installed forebay/infiltration basin system. Because the current proposed barn expansion will result in less impervious area than accounted for in the 2014 design, the currently built stormwater infrastructure will adequately treat and detain runoff from the proposed project. Wastewater treatment in the 2014 design split into two separate absorption trench systems. The first trench system treats domestic wastewater and the second system treats exclusively wastewater from floor drains of the equine hospital facilities. The proposed barn expansion will only produce wastewater from floor drains and therefore will tie into the second of the two absorption trench systems. The 2014 design sized the absorption trench system using an estimated 280 GPD flow as a result of the(8)surgeries performed per day in the hospital. The barn expansion will not result in any additional surgeries per day and will only be used for housing horses recovering from surgery. Therefore, the wastewater flow as a result of the barn expansion is negligible and the existing absorption trench system is adequately sized. Sincerely, 0),"4,e o Douglas B.
