At 2:00pm Monday through Friday 10 school buses line up on Hamilton Street to transport students from
Spa Catholic Central School. Observe how many parking spaces are required and the fact that the line of
buses extends from the Circular Street intersection to beyond the proposed Hamilton Street driveway for
project 269 Broadway. My recommendation to you is that you and the public you represent are entitled to
know how the developer of this proposal plans to manage this situation First, during construction and
second, there after. Please ask the questions during the public meeting. More importantly, how will the
developer manage the traffic when transporting construction materials and equipment across Hamilton
Street from the Spa Catholic Central playing field proposed as the staging area for the construction
site. If the footprint of this proposal was reduced the developers property could be used as the
staging area for equipment and materials. Granted a smaller building will not generate as much revenue
as the proposed over-the-top size of this building. The developer has to have known all the problems
this proposal would generate re: historic relevance, traffic (already a problem) and potential
disruption of the aquifer. And yet the developer keeps coming back to the land use boards with eye-
wash tweaks regarding building materials, water-catching planters and civic spaces. The real, more
critical issues are SIZE, TRAFFIC, SAFETY and the WATER TABLE. Please do your due diligence on behalf
of the public you represent.
