Amber, Please post this email for Planning Board members for their meeting tonight and for the archives. I have commented before about significant neighborhood concerns about the impact of the 269 project including on the aquifer, parking, traffic and public safety. Not until this week did I realized the following issue: Around 2: 15 pm on days when SPA Catholic is in session, not only does Broadway fill with cars of families seeking to pick up their children, but the east side of Hamilton is completely taken up by at least 10 school busses, parked from Circular all the way south past 269 Broadway. Based on industry standards of one employee per 150-300 sq feet of project, 269 will require 360-720 parking spaces for tenants alone, and more for their retail and business customers. Where will all these people try to park (certainly not at the garage on High Rock), and where will these busses wait for their students? I imagine the busses will park in the traffic lane, just as delivery trucks already do on Broadway. Our infrastructure (specifically Broadway, Hamilton and the intersection with Circular) cannot handle massive projects, currently 3 planned on a few blocks of Broadway in the T-6 and T-5 zones.
