Comments My concerns about granting 85 Nelson Avenue a 3 family Use
Variance still stand. When I bought this home, I knew a few
homes were running illegal 2 family operations. I could have put
an apartment over my garage when I bought it, and made extra
income (I could use it, since I'm retired) but complied and built
a space for myself. Could I have pleaded hardship?? I am con-
cerned about dense development going forward - between 87
Nelson and the lot on Nelson and Wright. Mr. Waite has been a
good landlord (has occupied some of the time) but the transient
nature of these properties is very concerning and disruptive at
times to me. I've seen his tenants destroy two panels of my
fence (which he hasn't acknowledged). Although Mr. Waite in-
terviews his tenants, I can't be sure that the next owner will do
the same. I want the sense of safety and stability on my block
that I bought into 10 years ago. I'm concerned a bout the whole
character of the neighborhood changing, thus me losing MY in-
vestment in my home. For someone's neglect to do due dili-
gence, and buy investment property - not a home - and now
want to change the character of the block - it's just not right in
my view. Thank you.
