Good morning,
I am emailing due to my concerns about the proposed new building at 269 Broadway and the potei
down of the large tree in front of the building.
I recently saw a building sketch and the building looks enormous, especially when compared to the
buildings on either side of the property. In addition, it looks like the beautiful, big tree in front of th
has been eliminated or torn down. I would assume that the big tree is not on their property
on the other side of the sidewalk or closest to Broadway, so I am not sure why they are allowe
remove the tree.
In my opinion, the large size of the building compared to the other buildings on that side of the strE
elimination of the tree are both significant negatives for Saratoga and especially negative as this is i
entrance into downtown Saratoga for both residents and tourists.
In addition, the trafFic and parking in this area are already severe.Tal<ing away the surface parking I
people use today and replacing it with a building that will require additional street parking and cre
additional traffic seems like a disaster for the area.
The large building, elimination of the tree, additional trafFic and increased parking issues will really
area and negatively impact first impressions of beautiful Saratoga for tourists and for people living I
Finally, I know that the water table is not deep in this area so any underground parking may be moi
problematic than anticipated.
Thanks for hearing my concerns and I hope that this project can be modified significantly to avoid n
these concerns.
Thanks,
G reg
