Currently one on-premise, non illuminated temparary sign listing the owner,designer andlor designer or contractors where
construction or renovation is in progress is�Ilowed.The Foundation wan#s an area variance to add wording#o provide a brief
code, and centact inFormation for the Foundatian, the rwner. The Foundatian is being required to request a second variance
because it does not have an aciive building permit. The Foundation is currently in the design process and it plans to submit an
application for a bui�ding permit in the near future. Currently, it is the Faundation's understanding that ta recieve an approved
building permit takes 12 weeks. This would prevent the Foundation being able to raise public awareness on-site. TMe Foundatian
permit will no langer be necessary ance a building permit is appraved.
4. Whether the variance wi II have adverse physicai ar environmental effects on neighborhood or district. The requested variance will not
have an adverse physical or environariental effect on the neighborhoad or district for tf�e following reasons:
The variance for the wording of fhe sign is for a sign that is temporary. The sign does not exceed khe size af an exempt
kemparary sign. It will not have a permanent adverse physical or environmental effect on the neighborhood or district because it is
on khe neighbprhood or district.
5. Whether the alleged difficulty was self-created(although this does not neCessarily pretlude the granting of an area variance). Explain
whether the alleged difficulry was or was not self-treated:
Yes. It is not typical for a non-prafi#to purchase a building ta rehablitate and request donativns. Due ta an inability to be able to
access the property prior to acquiring the property, the design pracess is anly starting now, Therefare, the Foundation is not able

PUBLIC HEARING ADVERTISEMENT
The Zoning Board of Appeals is required to hold a p�blic hearing on each submitted application withir� ninety(90)
days from when it is determined to be properly complete by Ciry staff.
City staff will prepare a legal notice for the publie hearing snd arrange #o have the public hearing
announcement printed in the fegal notice section af a local pubiication at least 5 days before the hearing.
