The 6uilding is a contributing�uilding to the West Side Historic District listed on the Nationai Register of Historic Places. The vernacular front-gable house was built circa Board of Directors 1850. I' S I x-:i�?-;ii�t� • When there are no alternatives to preserving the original ciadding and a synthetic material must be used,the following considerations shall apply: • Tfie use of synthetic matenals should only be �nstalled without irreversib�y damagin�or obscuring the architectura] features and trim. • Fake wood grains ar�inappropriate and strongly discouraged; exa�gerated wood grains would havc;i�een undesirable on real woad siding. � The width of the new siding should match t�le ariginal as clasely as possible. • The use of visib�e "J C��anne(" is discouraged; use trim and corner baards to hide�inyl siding joints, The Foun�atian understands that rehabilitation can be cost�y. Therefore, it recornmends that the applicant explore the New York State Historic Hoineowner Tax Credits, which offers a state income tax credat equal to 20°/o of quatified rehabilitation expenses assoeiated with repair,maintenance, and upgrades to historic homes up to a credit value af$50,004 per year.
