My desire to keep our park-like commu- nity safe and to maintain the quality of life we now have is my focus. With that in mind, I met with representatives from the hospital and the LA Group. The discussion was productive. I explained that I, and others in Birch Run, oppose any walkway or connection between the office complex and Birch Run. The high concentration of people in the office complex should not spill-over into, and disrupt, our quiet community. I am pleased to see the new sketch has a berm and trees running the entire length of the boundary. I hope the plantings will be thick to dis- courage people from making their own paths. Such a barrier will also help keep our community safe. I also support the hospital's plan to phase-in the parking spaces rather than building them all at once. Such an approach will mit- igate noise and light pollution. In addition, I support the current "low-profile" of the proposed buildings. We do not want any tall buildings there! Concerns about stormwater drainage and run-off were also dis- cussed with representatives from the LA Group and the hospi- tal. It cannot be allowed to impact the Birch Run drainage sys- tem. I believe they know that it would overwhelm our system. More information on the hospital's plans regarding drainage should be in the next plan submitted. I look forward to continuing discussing the plans with the hospi- tal representatives and their project designers as the plans de- velop. Concerns about traffic, light pollution, noise (particularly during construction), potential damage from blasting, and secu- rity remain, but the issues are not insurmountable. Thank you for considering my views. Sincerely, Mary Estelle Ryckman 16 Collins Terrace Saratoga Springs, NY Attach Photo (optional) Field not completed.
