RE: Administrative Action Request Skidmore College Boathouse (PB # 17.038 — Lot Line Adjustment)
Dear Ms. Maynard:
On behalf of Skidmore College, we request an Administrative Action for a lot line adjustment on this project.
As you may recall from the site plan approval dialogue last summer, the property line along Stafford's Bridge
Road is within one foot of the existing and proposed buildings. As a result, a person can't even walk around
the buildings without technically being on Saratoga County property. This property line relationship is similar
as we look at the parking area improvements. While the improved parking spaces are on Skidmore property,
the access aisle for them is on Saratoga County property.
In an effort to address these constraints, Skidmore initiated dialogue with Saratoga County. Skidmore
currently mows the county land that feels like a portion of the boathouse property and Saratoga County has
been allowed to use a portion of the Skidmore property as staging/parking for county highway construction
projects. This ongoing cooperative effort and dialogue led to an agreement that Skidmore purchase a +/- 26
foot strip of county land across the Stafford's Bridge Road frontage. This +/- 26 foot strip is below the toe of
the road slope and "feels" like a part of the Skidmore property. This land acquisition has been approved by
the full County Board of Supervisors on May 15. Evidence of this is County Board Chair Edward Kinowski
signing the application form as owner of "Property #2".
No other modifications to the site plan will occur, simply moving the property boundary. The physical condition
on the ground will remain as approved by the Planning Board so that this change will not be visible. The
attached Lot Line Adjustment Diagram dated 6/1/18 illustrates that the only revision is the location of the
property line. As a result, we request that this lot line adjustment be approved via administrative action. The
final property line condition will be reflected on the post -construction as -built survey and submitted to the City.
The application form, fee, and lot line adjustment survey map dated 5/24/18 are attached. Skidmore and the
County are working toward closing on the property transaction in early July. Please let me know if you have
