The Rockwell Putnam Building was built circa 1850 with later exterior changes made Board of Directors circa 1890s, including the three-story oriel bay. The building was badly damaged by fire in 1902 at which time the fourth floor was altered. It is a contributing building to the MatthewVeitchVeitch PresidentBroadwayHistoric District listed on the National Register of Historic Places. James Gold The Foundation had the opportunity to meet with the applicant' s representative to review Vice President &. Secretary initial plans. The Foundation was pleased to see that many of the original features, the oriel window bay, pilasters, and windows would remain and appreciated the applicant's Adam , Favro desire to return the storefronts to a more historicallyappropriate appearance. Liz Israel Samantha Kercull The Foundation appreciates that the applicant addressed many of our concerns in the Douglas Kerr Richard King revised plans. The Foundation supports the revised plans as presented with the exception Michelle Paquette-Deuel of the awning with illuminated signage. An early photograph shows the style of the Cindy Spence canvas awning that the building had historically and recommends that the awning be of Dimitri + Y ermcla} ev the same style and material. In addition, the Foundation objects to the internally LED illuminated signage affixed to the awning. The Foundation is concerned about the James Iettlewell emeritus precedent that it may set.
