Amanda, I am following up on our conversation earlier regarding the proposed height of our fence. I confirrr fence contractor that the height will be 54". He said that is the minimum height of the fence becau code measures to the bottom rail at the top of the fence below the spear. Additionally, our neighbi 181 Phila St. is slightly taller than 54" and therefore we felt it would tie into their fence better, aestl rather than having a significantly lower fence. Lastly, we wanted to include the decorative feature c but did not want to leave the spear exposed with our young kids. Therefore, we need to have the r top and bottom of the spear. I've seen this fence throughout town and it looks nice. As for why we need a fence in the front of our property, it is to ensure a 100%fenced-in perimeter property for safety purposes. We do not have a separate fence surrounding our pool. Since our pry fully fenced-in,we elected to install a driveway gate in lieu of a specific pool fence. It creates a mut open backyard space. The new proposed fence configuration will create an even more open space compared to our tall w privacy fence that is in place currently. I consider the proposed fence a significant upgrade from ou fence. Since our home is set back from the street, the proposed fence will create a courtyard like fE many homes throughout downtown, and allow the new (DRC approved)front porch to be more exi Otherwise, we will need to keep the existing wooden privacy fence in place, which is certainly not c preference. I hope you can forward this on to the DRC in advance of Wednesday's meeting. Even better, hopeft be moved back to the consent agenda. I look forward to hearing your thoughts.
