20200590 116 West Ave Mixed Use Application
a Advance Engineering & Surveying, PLLC Ail Consulting in: Civil & Environmental Engineering • Land Surveying • Land a7* Development 5 / 11 Herbert Drive Phone: (518) 698-3772 4friti 11,4 Latham, N.Y. 12110 Email:ncostape@gmail.com Nicholas Costa, PE Narrative Description of Proposed Landscape Plan Modifications at 116 West Avenue City of Saratoga Springs, County of Saratoga August 2020 The project at 116 West Avenue has been under construction for over a year and a half and major milestones have been completed with the exterior and interior of the building nearing completion and all the site infrastructure being completed and the parking areas paved. Currently, the applicant has been discussing the project with several landscaping contractors in their attempt to complete the landscaping tasks during this planting season. Based on some the conversations that have taken place with the landscaping contractors and suppliers it has become evident that some of the original planting materials are not available. Additionally, based on some of the locations of the proposed trees a different low growing tree or shrub is required to be proposed. There are several locations where the proposed plant would interfere with the balconies that are above ground and would result in a conflict as the trees would continue to grow. At the rear of the site a substantial number of existing trees and vegetation was saved from clearing and this forms a privacy screen that has always been in place (see attached pictures). The applicant is requesting consideration based on the above noted reason for approval of the Landscape Plan modifications shown on the attached drawing. We would appreciate your quick review so we can take advantage of this fall planting season and so the site will look finished and appealing to prospective buyers and for the City of Saratoga.
