Following discussion on this matter on November 6, 2019, the Commission issues the following opinion: 0 Favorable Opinion Considerations: The Design Review Commission notes that in terms of mas sand scale, the revised principal structure and the accessory qarage are now of acceptable proportion and size in relation to the original, historic main structure. With respect to location, the Design Review Commission sugqests that the final location of the principal structure be revised to provide more buffering space between the structure and the sidewalk on the Alley side and to provide for sufficient distance, green space and for a functional porch on the Cherry Street side. Final location is sugqested further away from both front lot lines. In addition, the DRC recommends that the garage be located aproximately 1 7 feet from the sidewalk to permit the stationing of an auto on the driveway without impeding the access and movement along the sidewalk. With respect to the subdivision of this (and future) historic lot(s), the DRC notes that there is a general concern with the creation of substandard sized lots and, in particular, Page 1 of 2 the reduction of historic properties. However, due to the historic precedence and documentation of previous structures on this site, and in this general location, the DRC would not object to the proposed subdivision in this instance.
